Enough Hangers
October 8, 2007 by Greg

I’m going to the container store today to acquire, among other things, more hangers. I never have enough hangers. I don’t think at any point in my life have I ever had enough. Am I alone? Do you have enough hangers?

I have enough. I did run out at one point and made a trip to walmart.. bought several packages of the generic white plastic ones (boo @ wire hangerS).
Since I moved out of my old place in which I had 3 huge closets all to myself, and had to scale down my wardrobe to fit in my newer, much-smaller one-closet bedroom. As a result, whenever I buy new clothes I end up donating those that I haven’t worn in ages.
In fact, I’ve actually got a surplus of hangers. I had all my t-shirt hung due to the lack of space for a dresser, but hanging them was causing the necks to stretch out, so I purchased one of these: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/50116499
Hangers? I need good hangers for my trousers (they clip on the cuffs and the trousers hang down, eliminating creases). Of course, you could spend $20 on a nice wood hanger, but that’s a bit much, no?
I think the reason I’ve never been short on hangers is all the dry cleaning I do. Wire hangers everywhere, which are good for button up shirts. I would defintiely say $20 for one hanger is outrageous.
Wire hangers make me feel dirty. It’s strange that I think I don’t have enough hangers with a stack of wire ones sitting nearby waiting to be returned to the cleaners.
I ended up getting 72 pistachio green colored plastic hangers for $18. They look cool.
I use all wire hangers. From the dry cleaners. I have way too many.
Except for suits and sport coats and some other things, those get wooden hangers.
