English 101 or How Not to Sound Like an Idiot

I detest people who constantly correct others grammar. If it is not something for publication or a recurring issue, then just shut up. However, from time to time, it seems we all need a refresher in our native language. Enter English 101.
VTBSD has compiled a list of the most popular errors from Paul Brians’ website and book, Common Errors in English. This page provides a list of simple tutorials covering easily digestible topics. A few to pay note of:

I too hate the constant correctors, but will admit to occasionally using the wrong version of ‘its’ even though I understand the rules for it.
True that. It’s tricky.

that’s such a weird grammatical thing…
lol, goat that’s awesome!
That reminds me of something my old vet school girlfriend told me: The scientific species name of bison is bison bison. Apparently you can refer to them as bison bison bison as well.

The English language is a beautiful thing and improper grammar detracts from its beauty. I’ll admit that it might be rude and imposing to correct others’ grammar, but to ignore the error is almost as egregious. If we do not fight for the continued purity of language, than we will all degenerate into the horrors of teenage txt spk.
