eating for energy

March 9, 2007 by Cash

It's Peanut Butter Butter Time!

After my recent expose on the “uplifting” world of Adderall, I thought I’d do a bit of research into more natural ways of perking up.

Several themes seem to emerge;

1) Eat several small meals a day to keep your blood sugar regulated
2) Utilize ’smart snacks’ dense with nutrients and carbohydrates (veggie sticks such as bell peppers, yogurt and fresh fruit, or my personal favorite: peanut butter on whole wheat crackers)
3)  Take advantage of fiber.  Dietary fiber burns through your system slowly, helping keep your energy charged longer.  Think apples, strawberries, and a staple of my cupboards: oatmeal

Find more info, including things to avoid, here.

Have a great weekend everyone, thanks for reading.
