drunk grade school teacher, i salute you

I don’t need excuses to drink.  Waking up on a crisp fall Saturday, brewing coffee, and then remembering a bottle of Stoli Vanil in the freezer is enough to get me in a sipping mood (if you’ve never had your cafe with a splash of vanilla vodka, well you sir, haven’t lived).

That said though, the prospect of facing 30+ unruly 6 year olds day in and day out wouldn’t just be an EXCUSE for me to drink, it would read more like a government mandate.

That’s why tonight I’ll raise my pint glass to Sharon Duerring; 1st grade teacher, 1st class drunkard, and maybe the greatest hero of all.

Officials had removed Deurring from the classroom before police arrived.

Police said a Breathalyzer showed Deurring had a blood alcohol level of 0.20, which is more than twice the legal limit to drive a vehicle. She was charged with public intoxication and taken in handcuffs to the Porter County Jail, according to the report.

The part that truly merits a UM salute:

Police told the newspaper that Deurring had two beers in her purse when she was arrested

Sounds like a typical trip to the cineplex for us, except substitute ‘man bag’ for purse.

(ps, the tippler shown above is actually Lady Sovereign; her picture was more appealing than Sharon’s)

Cool Post! Made me laugh, and I will absolutely try the hard coffee. Can’t think of a better way to start the weekend.

once brewed coffee with a bit of hangar one in the resivour (back before i did french press) and it was the tastiest coffee ever.

had a teacher in highschool that everyone(including other administrators) knew had something other than “coffee” in her coffee cup…. last i knew she was still teaching like that… hahaha

just plain as a starting experiment. worked really well. the flavors really came out and made cheap ass coffee a much better taste. not sure why i never went back and tried that again. worked out great once…

If you are an iced coffee drinker, especially in the summer, opt out of the creamer (or skim in my case) and fill’er up with Baileys! It is oh so tasty.
