drinking to your health
Being a lover of libations keeps me constantly on the lookout for any additional benefits of enjoying a stiff drink.
A recent study indicates that moderate drinking seems to contribute to a healthier heart.
(I read about this on an Australian web site where I was also delighted to learn three new drinking terms: pot, stubby and nip. )
Viva la Australians, Viva La Booze!
The American survey charting the health of nearly 9000 men over 16 years revealed that risk of heart attacks was lowest among healthy men who drank moderately — up to three drinks a day. A standard drink is measured as a pot of full-strength beer, a stubby of medium-strength beer or a spirit nip.
