DIY All Inclusive

Recently, a friend of a friend organized a trip for us all to attend Coachella.  My friend handled all the travel arrangements, and her friend handled lodgings, drinks, and food.  I booked the flight picked out, and I bought my concert ticket.  Other than that, I just handed over $150 and accommodations and food were taken care of.

I found the concept of just dropping a set amount to cover all food, drinks, and housing cost refreshing.  Usually when traveling, we’ll each bring a bottle of booze and split checks at restaurants.  With the DIY all inclusive model, it was all handled.  We had the option of requesting specific items, but easy going as I was, I just took it as it came with the mention of my vegetarian diet, and it worked out great.

How do you travel as a group?

I get pretty paranoid trusting other people to stuff like this, but I know from an ‘all inclusive’ perspective overall - it can be great.

My sister and bro-in-law always take these (ungodly expensive, but worth it) fancy all-inclusive trips to private resorts in Mexico and the like, and have loved every minute of the hassle free experience.
