Dinner Pancakes

I love pancakes.  Although my tastes have changed from a bisquick buttermilk preference to the likes of whole grain and blue corn gourmet editions, I still love pancakes.  Aside from a crape or two, I’ve never eaten them outside of ‘breakfast.’  If you’re looking for an interpretive take on what may be an old breakfast staple to you, NY Times will guide your palette through the world of pancakes.

There is a world of pancakes beyond breakfast. Some are familiar to experienced cooks: potato pancakes and their Swiss cousins, rösti; corncakes and their South American relatives, arepas; and the earthy buckwheat crepes of Brittany. Others are a little more advanced, like the ones we cook here.

Impress all with your new dinner pancake recipes.  Of course, invite me for dinner as well.

The Italian veggie pancakes pictured here don’t do it for me, but the spinich pancakes shown in the article look tasty. Didn’t we have potato pancakes @ the St Patty’s Party? That night is one green beer blur.

Damn straight you had some TASTY potato pancakes on St. Patty’s Day.

When I was in Japan, my friend took us to this restaurant where they made Japanese savory pancakes called okonomiyaki. They were delicious and you could have them prepared in several different ways. We had Kim Chi flavored ones, as well as some with cabbage, potatoes and eggs. Sweetness!

Wednesday, when we do the wine and cheese, I can also make pancakes. Choose a recipe that you want to make and get the ingredients and we will make them. Let me know if we will need a food processor because Glenn has it. Also what time does everyone want to come over at?
