cheap christmas gift ideas
December 4, 2007 by Cash
I have a Christmas tradition that goes back a couple of years. With the exception of my immediate family, everyone else on my list gets a custom Cash mix-cd and a couple of ’shooter’ sized bottles of booze. When I plan far enough in advance, the goods are dished out along with cookies at an intimate cocktail party I host.
This year, those sage financial lads over @ Motley Fool UK have a few other cheap ideas worth considering.
One favorite:
1. Secret Santa
If you will be seeing a lot of people at once on Christmas day, why not arrange to do a “Secret Santa”? Everyone pulls a name out of a hat and has to buy that person a gift (you can set a budget, too). It saves a fortune and everyone still has something to open on the big day.
Not a bad idea if you have a lot of people on your list.

Do I still get my seduction book? Santa knows I need that for sure!
I make gourmet truffles for the holidays, along with mead. I brew homemade mead (sort of a honey wine) and bottle it for folks once it’s done around the holidays. No one ever complains about getting booze.
Mmmmm Mead.. something tells me I need to get myself on your Christmas list, Telan
Well, I may perhaps know someone making rum. Maybe. It’s sort of illegal to make hard liquor. But I know a guy who knows a girl. It tastes like candy and death and would put hair on Captain Morgan’s chest.
OMG Telan.. I just re-read your last comment.
“It tastes like candy and death and would put hair on Captain Morgan’s chest.”
