The Happening Movie Review

Last night I watched M. Night Shyamalan’s The Happening. It was awful. Though, I did find humor in this review…
This was supposed to be a good movie! But instead it is a huge disappointment. Its hard to tell if it was supposed to be a bad comedy, a horror movie, or just something thats plain old stupid… In my opinion it’s stupid.
As a side note, I’m not going to rent movies from the video store anymore. iTunes worked great for renting, syncing to my iPhone and watching on my LCD TV.
Megan Fox : Are You Kidding Me?

Longtime UM favorite Megan Fox is gracing the covers of both Maxim and GQ this month. In perusing a friend’s copy of the Maxim issue, I was amazed to see one of her (many) tattoos, on her lower stomach no less; “Brian”.
As in Brian Austin Green, her longtime boyfriend/fiance/whateva.
As in this guy:

An epidemic of organ failures devastates the planet. Panic erupts and scientists feverishly make plans for a massive organ harvest. Out of the tragedy, GeneCo, a multi-billion dollar biotech company, emerges. GeneCo provides organ transplantation for a profit. In addition to financing options, GeneCo reserves the right to implement default remedies, including repossession. For those who can’t keep up with their organ payments, collection is the responsibility of “organ repo men”, skilled assassins contracted by GeneCo, ordered to recover GeneCo’s property by any means necessary.
Featuring Paris Hilton. And Ohgr. Yes, from Skinny Puppy. This may be the cinematic event of the year. Mark your calendars for a late November release. Happy birthday to me, indeed.

Choke - Release Date 9.26.2008

Fight Club’s near-perfect adaptation to the big screen sets a pretty high bar for Palahniuk movies. On the 26th, we get to see if Choke can deliver. If you’re not familiar with Choke’s hilarious premise;
A sex-addicted con-man pays for his mother’s hospital bills by playing on the sympathies of those who rescue him from choking to death.
The trailers look okay, I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
BTW; at the Palahniuk reading earlier this year they handed out promo materials for the film. I got Choke anal-bead bookmarks, and a signed inflatable love doll. I heart Chuck Palahniuk forever.
