post-movie happy hour x2

July 2, 2008 by Cash · 2 Comments

Downtown, there’s one place to see a movie:  Denver Pavilions.

Sadly, it’s stuck smack dab in the middle of the uber-touristy 16th street mall.  Though not a bad spot in general, it can be horrible if you have your sights set on cheap drinking.

UM to the rescue then, with two great happy hours nearby. Whether your pleasure is drinking before a movie, after, or both, we’ve got you covered.

It’s Not a Mountain

July 1, 2008 by Greg · 1 Comment

not_a_mountain.jpg

Last night I helped a friend move a few items out of her long since uninhabited condo in the city.  While packing a few trinkets, she ran across a shot glass that she kindly offered to me.  This reminded me of another shot glass I received as a present from a friend.  When bugging her to tell me what this unknown present was, she said, “Don’t get too excited, it’s not a mountain.”

Remember when a single 20oz serving of Mountain Dew could keep you up all night, bouncing off the wall in a state of super stimulated delight?

Boy howdy, I do.  Damn you tolerance dam you straight to hell.

be rich, or live richly?

June 30, 2008 by Cash · 2 Comments

4HWW was a real eye opener for me, putting into perspective what it truly means to live a rich life.  It has very little to do with a 7 or 8 figure portfolio.

It has everything to do with having the freedom to spend your time as you wish.

It turns out it’s not just UM idol Tim Ferriss who recognizes this important fact;

happy birthday, lipgloss

June 27, 2008 by Cash · 2 Comments

Tyler Jacobson (DJ Danger) and Michael Trundle (Boyhollow)’s “Lipgloss” has been a Friday night institution of hipstery hijinks here in Denver for 7 years running.

Equal parts brit-pop + indie + disco dance party, bleeding edge electro freak fest and cheap beer bonanza, Lipgloss is a guaranteed good time, everytime.

I can remember its humble beginnings as  “Hypersonic” at the super sleazy Snakepit oh so many moons ago.  Its current home at the upscale salsa house La Rumba (9th & Acoma) seems far more fitting;  like fine wine, classic Smiths tracks and yours truly - Lipgloss just gets better and better with age.

Join Danger & Boyhollow for tonight’s celebration:

In Case of Emergency for Greg and Cash

help me

If you do not see a post on here from either Cash and I for a day or two, contact the authorities.  We’ve probably went missing, and people will just think we’re out traveling, not returning phone calls, or hiding in our apartments.  Save us the embarrassment of the month it would take our friends/family’s to go look for us.

Presenting; “F**k Raffle”

Sponsored by web-vid heavy hitters like Penthouse, Brazzers, and Digital Playground (now streaming the real Humpty Dance), FRaffle’s the world’s first raffle offering 10 lucky winners their very own steamy session with the vixen (or vixman!) of their choosing. Victors’ll be winged to LA for a six-night stay, which (following a quick disease test) includes a pro photo session with your dream girl, 30 minutes of on-camera action, and the ultimate, 60 minutes of “1-on-1 time” — so, like one minute to get to know each other, and 59 to ask her what she majored in.

an introduction to shop dropping

June 18, 2008 by Cash · 2 Comments

When I was in high school, I knew two girls who were avid PETA supporters.
One of their favorite Saturday night activities was to visit Osco Drug with a bunch of “Animals Were Tortured In the Making Of This Product” stickers and affix them to ‘naughty’ cosmetic products known to do animal testing.

Apparently, there is a new faction of people engaging in similar activities, albeit with much more entertaining goals in mind.

“Shop Dropping” is like reverse shop lifting.  It involves leaving something on a store shelf (usually repackaged goods with some sort of artistic / humourous / political message) and then returning a few days later attempting to buy it, in order to watch the clerk’s reaction.

Interesting stuff, and the girl’s English accent makes it all the more watchable.  Rawr!

Random: Jimmy The Bean

June 12, 2008 by Greg · 1 Comment

I recently received an instant message from an unknown friend. He said that I’ve been on his list for a long time. We figured it out was from somewhere around 8 years ago. He described himself as “tall, scrawny, and awkward.” After we realized we wouldn’t remember each other he bid me farewell letting me know that his name was Jimmy The Bean.

Greg’s Delusions: Plane Theory

south america on the globe

Sometimes I wonder if planes really take me anywhere.  I’ve driven from Michigan to Colorado, so I’m pretty sure that these two places exist and are significantly far apart from each other.  Aside from this, everything else is up for grabs.  When I get on a plane and end up somewhere exotic, I tend to question the means.
