So in my ongoing quest to keep you up to date on the best ways to spend your drinking dollars in Denver, I decided to share an email I sent to my good friend Donnie.
It concerns Bar Standard (see my original review here) and their new Sunday afternoon patio parties:
Subject: Best. Sunday afternoon. Ever.
So Bar Standard’s Sunday afternoon patio parties are insane.
No cover, free burgers and hot dogs on the grill. Two seperate rooftop patios (each with its own dj and wicked sound system). $2 PBRs, $10 buckets of Coronaitas. Oh and did I mention girls? Like tons and tons of phreaking hot ladies? It’s like the perfect blend of scenesters, service industry types, hootchie mamas and couger MILFs on the prowl. Just sick and insane.
Donnie: (name redacted - cute door girl from one of our favorite clubs) and (name redacted - cute bartendress at another club in town) were both there.
It was fantastic.
We will have to do it up soon.

There you have it. No more excuses for staying sober on Sunday afternoons.
BETA has a pool party theme on Sundays…..who could ask for more. Beer,sun, water and hotties(girls) wearing barely there purple suits….
Oh and the add on the side: WTF! Cafe Mom….no men allowed. hmmmm
Yeah, google gets plenty kooky with what they consider ‘relevant’ to UM when dishing up our ads.. After the upgrade we’ll have more control over that.
Thanks for the heads up on BETA’s Sunday. Seems like there are quite a few end of weekend parties coming together.

A bit off-topic, sorry, BUT….I don’t exactly know WHY I checked the above link out, given as I live nowhere near Denver, but I did. Since I was on the site, I found this link, and clicked on it. This guy isn’t exactly , hmm, reticent? about himself, is he? I found the following, and more:

I just found it rather amusing. I guess he likes himself…or, am I totally off-base and he didn’t have anything to do with writing that himself? I rather got the impression that he did write it.

I’d have to say….yes he likes himself as most club promoters do. It seems we forget this is Denver! Not New York or L.A.
Oh, and by the way I’m the Next Top Model……kidding…
Maybe he’s ‘over-compensating’? There was a picture of him on his page, standing next to one of the models, and he was about half her size. Some sort of complex, maybe? I just don’t know what all the above information has to do with his current job. Possibly he’s fishing for his next one? In his defense, I did note that it looks as though he does some amazing parties. (Although some look a bit X-Rated?) Yes, definitely more New York/LA in style. Most large cities these days do seem to be emulating those, although, sadly, Tucson seems to be stuck in the 50’s. Change comes very slowly here. We DO finally have some decent restaurants, but not enough. Most things are still geared towards the University students. (Or the rodeo circuit)
