Try fingernail polish to remove the last shreds of the label, the old-fashioned kind with acetone. I find that the product Goo be Gone is also good for this. I buy things from the Dollar Stores, and they seem to want the labels, etc. to never come off, (one of my personal pet peeves) but the Goo be Gone gets them every time. These things are easier than a razor blade, plus, in my hands at least, much safer. That really is a great idea, especially given the dangers of plastic that are only now being revealed.
