
One evening I was feeling like spending the night in for a change, so I decided to shell out $1.99 to give Amazon’s digital video rental and purchase system a trial. Just a few days after my first Unbox purchase of a House M.D. episode, I had downloaded the rest of the current season. I was hooked.
With House currently holding its new episodes till later April, I moved onto Showtime’s Weeds as an interim replacement. Coming home late Friday night, I decided that watching a new episode or two was in order. After a series of misfired mouse clicks and repeated one-click purchase attempts, I could not get any new episodes to download. Frustrated, and perhaps a bit too far into my cups, I gave up and went to sleep.
Suddenly waking at 4am and filled with a desire to debug my problem, I went to my computer. Upon investigation I discovered that I had been repeatedly buying episodes I already owned. I shot an email off to Amazon to see about getting a refund for my one-click purchases gone awry. Proud of my discovery, I rewarded myself by yet again purchasing more episodes that I already own.
After a few emails with a responsive CSR, Amazon fixed all the problems caused mainly by own ignorance.
I have reviewed our previous correspondence with you, and I offer my sincere apologies for any misunderstanding thus far.
After reviewing the situation regarding your orders for the episodes of “Weeds” season 1, I see that this season was actually ordered approximately 4.33 times.
I have issued refunds for the following orders and this removes the additional duplicate orders.
In addition to the above refunds, I have issued two $1.99 promotional credits to your Amazon.com account as the season price for this series is currently discounted at $15.92 from the regular price of $19.90. Please use these credits for any Amazon Unbox video and you will automatically receive a discount. Please also note that these credits are separate and will not stack on a single order.
