What was crazy about this article was when it said that the reason we have a hard time remembering dreams is because they aren’t stored into our long term memory, but what about those dreams that we do remember? The ones that are so vivid even after you wake up.
Raquel; good question about dreams.
One thing I believe in 100%: Your subconscious is smarter than you are. This definitely explains why ’sleeping on’ something usually provides better results than spending 1/2 a day trying to figure it out. I think Goat made a comment to this effect on another post.
Generally speaking, dreams you remember you do so because you came out of that sleep cycle rapidly; essentially the dream was still in short-term memory when your store-to-long-term-memory faculties kicked back in. Normally speaking, this doesn’t happen due to the nature of a regular sleep cycle.
Cash: yeah. deaf use sleeping on a problem to figure stuff out way too often. i also took that ot mean that following your “gut instinct” works so well, because in essence that is your subconscious as well.
