Intelligent Sex Toys

Another website that’s been on the tip of my tongue lately is the Sasi Sex Toy. I’ve been biting said tongue because I’ve been dipping my toe in an experiment I like to call “not being a pervert all the time.” However, I can share what I want with you dear UM readers…
Its about time someone started applying machine intelligence to good things rather than the seemingly evil: the new JeJoue SaSi “personal massager” comes with built-in motion playlists and also actually learns what its lady likes in the way of sub-knicker action. And occasionally, just for kicks, it rocks a bit of freestylin’ to give you a surprise.
the internet is not the world

This past weekend’s opening of J.J. Abram’s “Cloverfield” movie turned into an unlikely reality check for me. Ever since seeing the (then unnamed) trailer prior to Transformers, I’ve been dorking out to the extreme keeping up on the viral marketing campaign for the film. The buzz was so loud on the net (and amongst all my friends for that matter), I felt positive opening weekend would be bananas. I forced everyone in my crew to buy tickets Friday for a Saturday afternoon showing at the Continental theatre (the biggest screen in the Denver metro area).
Two things made me realize how jaded my view of internet promoted pop culture has become:
Like Semen for Fish
January 22, 2008 by Greg · 3 Comments

The best acid test for a UM post is to see what websites I’m talking about to friends. Last night I told at least 3 different groups of people about feeding semen to fish. The forum starts off simple enough.
Is there any reason that semen would be bad for my fish?
well?

Giving Goals a Day Off

For the past week I’ve been head in to a new diet and exercise regime. Part of the program is to take one day off a week to eat whatever I want. After enjoying a deliciously large slice of new york style pizza, I started thinking about the falls I usually take when making changes in my life. Read more
poll: christina ricci vs. rose mcgowan

Christina Ricci vs. Rose McGowan
I’ve always had a thing for gothy looking girls with an evil streak. Call it a blessing or a curse. A blessing when leather, corsets and 6 inch stiletto fuck me boots come out of her closet for the night. A curse when her soul numbing insecurity appears and leads to years of stalking, restraining orders and all other manner of fatal attraction fun.
On the big screen, two girls who’ve always done it for me in this regard are Christina Ricci and Rose McGowan. Last night after an, uh, interesting night carousing at the club, I was having a discussion with some good friends when the question came up:

The best thing about this video is that in addition to being hilarious (the dialogue is absolutely awesome) it also contains some great photoshop tips.
The future of online instruction? I hope so.

Australian Party Teen
January 18, 2008 by Greg · 3 Comments
Australian teen Corey Delaney throws a party when his parents are out of town. 500 people show up and shortly after the police force, streaking, and vandalism ensue. He interviews with local news channel shirtless and wearing sunglasses.
My favorite quote:
News Anchor: I suggest you go away and take a good long hard look at yourself.
Cory: I have. Everyone has. They love it.
Thanks for the link Glenn!

Some girls, sadly, are destined to never achieve orgasm. Other girls are destined to achieve them 200 times a day.

My friends keep telling my Justice is going to sell out when they visit Denver. I doubt it. Feel free to comment with “Who is Justice?”

Guilty Confessions: Pride Radio

I wrote earlier about my love affair with hd radio. When looking for a little variety between my usual jazz, classical, and news programming, I have found my new favorite station, Pride Radio digital multicast in Denver. Filled with cheesy dance remixes of pop music, dance floor classics, and gloria estefan, I’m hooked. Read more
trevor debth : bikini photographer, american hero
*note our next book club discussion has been delayed until tomorrow at noon
I don’t even know where to start. Trevor Debth is living the dream (whose? try ‘any straight man’s’) while doing something incredibly noble in the process.
A twenty-something who gave up the opportunity of a college education for the perhaps more practical “university of life,” Trevor left his hometown of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, for Los Angeles, CA, in 1999. Having taught himself the art of photography and off-line editing, he quickly made a name for himself taking portraits of the likes of supermodel-turned-actress Amber Valetta, character actor Cliff Curtis, and editing films such as the award-winning “Cuco Gomez-Gomez Is Dead!” (for which he picked up a “Best Editing”award). In 2006, however, at the height of his success, Debth closed shop and took a 3-month sabbatical to continue his (self) education in Europe.
In Europe, he had an epiphany:
Bachelor Pad: Dusting
January 16, 2008 by Greg · 3 Comments

Continuing on the theme of cleaning as the best investment in improvement, this week we are focusing on dust. Few things degrade the appearance of your place like a film of gray on all the things you own. Before cleaning it and preventing it, first we’ll discuss what it is and why it’s not good.
Dust mainly comes from us. Our skin cells fall off, die, fly around, and land in various places in around the home. While airborne, the dust becomes a pollutant irritating lungs, nasal passages, eyes, and settling in the lungs. While on the ground, it creates offensive piles that act as breeding grounds for dust mites. Read more
reader input: switching from pc to mac?
January 16, 2008 by Cash · 14 Comments

I’ve had it. Between several complete crashes, intermittently functioning hardware (especially DVD burners..) and now a constantly overheating CPU (my fan is going out and will be next to impossible to replace without completely dissembling my entire system), I hear the seductive siren song of an Apple in my near future.
I used to worry about having enough software to work with if I made the switch. Then I conducted an inventory of what I *actually* use my home computer for; iTunes, editing the occasional video project, internet surfing / porn, writing and occasional maintenance on a remote SQL server DB. That’s it. With the exception of the last one, I know for a fact an Apple should suit me even better than a PC.
I’ve got my eye on the simplicity and inexpensive price tag of a Mac Mini (remember, we’re beginning the “Deconstruction of Cash” over here
)
My question to all our tech savvy readers then, is this: What can I expect in making the switch?
Send Your Dog to Prison

While carefully plotting my trip to New Orleans, one of the biggest issues has been my travel companion’s dog. Not sure what do to with a dog for 6 weeks, we’ve investigated rental cars, pet friendly rental properties, dog boarders, and now prison. In Colorado there is an animal rescue program that utilizes inmates as dog trainers. Conveniently, they also offer boarding.
Another unique aspect of the PTKCP is that we offer boarding-in training to private dog owners. Boarding-in training lasts a minimum of one month. The monthly boarding-in fee is $400 for 4 weeks. If you decide you want the dog to stay longer, the cost would then be $50 per week after the first four weeks. We accept most breeds on a first come, first served basis. We have a short waiting list at times.

Wtf Radiohead?
After two prior tours of sold out, magnificent shows at Red Rocks, you’ve decided to turn your nose up at us? A listing of cities (dates/venues TBA) for the forthcoming Radiohead “In Rainbows” 2008 tour has been announced and to my utter dismay, does not include Denver.
Surely a typo, right?
Especially after my own glowing review of your latest album? Needless to say, UM’s band of merry men have already begun discussing travel arrangements to catch Yorke & co on the road (Chicago..here we come) but why.. WHY!?! The lucky list of cities where they WILL play is as follows:
Getting Your Mail Temporarily Forwarded
January 15, 2008 by Greg · 2 Comments

I’m currently planning a 6 week trip to New Orleans. Since I work remotely, I’ll be able to continue my job while I’m there. One of my concerns has been collecting my existing incoming payments, as I don’t yet have this process automated. A quick visit to the USPS website let’s me know that the postal service will handle it all for me.
Premium Forwarding Service (PFS) is a domestic service for residential customers. With this service, USPS® forwards ALL of your mail from your permanent address to a temporary address. Read more
quick tip: cut your grooming costs in half

How to? Start showering every OTHER day. I kid, I kid. As a long time “product” dork obsessed with the likes of Zirh, Art of Shaving, et al, I’ve spent more money than I care to admit on pricey oils, lotions and creams. After several Art of Shaving items rounded out my birthday gift collection however, I had a ‘duh!’ epiphany that’s been saving me money ever since.
Improving Your Strengths
January 14, 2008 by Greg · 5 Comments
Last week I got an email from a good friend listing his five strengths and what they meant.
Hey guys, I want to pass along something I found reading psychology research that’s really cool.
It’s an online assessment that gives your top 5 personality strengths along with suggestions of how to use them better. It’s backed and validated by research studies. For myself, it’s helping to clarify what would be a good career for me as well as what strengths in others will complement me.
Spend the $12 and check it out. If nothing else, it’s nice to get feedback on what you’re good at rather than what you’re bad at.
goodbye netflix, hello library card
January 14, 2008 by Cash · 11 Comments
Six years. It’s a long time for any relationship, let alone one with a company like Netflix. Don’t get me wrong, I love Netflix. Their overall business model, huge independent movie selection (including unrated and Nc-17 titles) and power to finally topple the evil empire of Blockbuster video (read my rant here) are good things indeed. Still, after six years of being one of Netflix’s best customers, it’s time to move on.
