Congratulations to Alix; in addition to being our first Urban Minx, she was just featured in Maxim.  Huge nod to Cameron Stewart, the uber-talented photog behind both of the shoots, as well.

Continued success to you both, rockstars.  Links:

Buying Christmas Gifts for Friends

December 6, 2007 by Greg · 3 Comments

christmas_presents_for_friends.jpg

Yesterday I wrote and said I only buy presents for my family and my girlfriend, however, my friends always seem to buy me things when I least expect it.  While I could and have made a list of people I want to buy Christmas presents for and/or are likely to buy me presents, this grows increasingly difficult as the years go on.  Someone always surprises me. reasons to get drunk: 12/6 edition

December 6, 2007 by Cash · 3 Comments

Modern Drunkard’s work has long been a staple of my coffee table / internet browser / sober afternoon cubicle-shackled daydreams.  For some odd reason, I found myself remembering their excellent drinking by the numbers series “365 reasons to get drunk”.  Every day of the year is accounted for (not only with a legitimate holiday worth toasting, but also a suggested libation for the occasion).

Today’s main event:

Space Sex

December 6, 2007 by Greg · 3 Comments

space_sex.jpg

As I kid I always wanted to go to space camp and as an adult I still think NASA is cool.

“The issue of sex in space is a serious one,” he says. “The experiments carried out so far relate to missions planned for married couples on the future International Space Station, the successor to Mir. Scientists need to know how far sexual relations are possible without gravity.”

quick tip: coinstar sucks

December 5, 2007 by Cash · 8 Comments

When I lived in the burbs, there were times where scavanging my apartment would fetch me a pizza’s worth of spare change.  In those days, I’d drive a few miles over to Safeway, dump my plastic sack o’ filthy nickles into the gurgling ‘Coinstar’ machine, and out would pop a voucher for my earnings.

Well, 90% of my earnings, after the ‘Coinstar fee’.  Times have changed for the better. 10% better to be precise.

How to Make Christmas Shopping Easier

December 5, 2007 by Greg · 1 Comment

the_same_presents.jpg

I have three rules to make Christmas shopping easier. The first reduces the load, the second reduces the effort, and the third optimizes the purchasing procedure.

Rule Number 1 - Don’t Buy People Christmas Presents

I’m probably not going to buy you a Christmas present unless you happen to be in my immediate family or sharing my bed.  In one step I’ve just limited my Christmas distribution list to my 3 family members and optional girlfriend.  Read more

mstrkrft - easy love video

December 5, 2007 by Cash · 10 Comments

My continuing search for ‘another band like Daft Punk’ (suggestions so far have included Digitalism?! puhLEASE) brought me to Canadian producers / musicians MSTRKRFT.  While they may not be Daft Punk ENOUGH to satisfy my cravings, they’re definitely going in the right direction.

I’ll call your attention then to the freaking bizarre video for their song ‘Easy Love’.

What starts out as a sexy expose of several gorgeous women sensuously sipping long straws quickly descends into a strawberry quik(?) bukkake explosion, replete with dentist’s chair and disco ball.  Naturally.

I’m at a loss for words.  NSFW?  Um, I dunno.

Quick Tip: Getting Furniture Samples

December 4, 2007 by Greg · 1 Comment

leather_samples.jpg

I’m obsessed with furniture and decorating my apartment. When I’m shopping (mostly online), I sometimes have difficulty figuring out whether a bookcase, chair, or window covering would look good with the rest of my things.  I’ve found the solution is simply a matter of requesting a sample.

cheap christmas gift ideas

December 4, 2007 by Cash · 5 Comments

christmas-gift.JPG

I have a Christmas tradition that goes back a couple of years.  With the exception of my immediate family, everyone else on my list gets a custom Cash mix-cd and a couple of ’shooter’ sized bottles of booze.  When I plan far enough in advance, the goods are dished out along with cookies at an intimate cocktail party I host.

This year, those sage financial lads over @ Motley Fool UK have a few other cheap ideas worth considering.

Sleeping Around with Permission

December 4, 2007 by Greg · 1 Comment

The lovely Jillian sent me this link to a question and answer section on MSNBC.

I am not getting enough sex. My wife of seven years and I have talked about this both in and out of the bedroom. I suggested marriage counseling but she said, “To save time and to save our marriage, I give you permission to get your sex with other women, discreet women, with whom we are not acquainted or social. All I ask is that you be safe at all times, don’t knock anyone up and don’t bring it into our home at all.” Dr. Gail, I was speechless and had to go for a drive to the coast and back. What does this mean? How am I supposed to feel? What should I do?

One Thing I Love: Wild Oats Extra Virgin Olive Oil Review

December 3, 2007 by Greg · 1 Comment

wild_oats_extra_virgin_olive_oil.jpg

This past weekend I was leisurely munching on a Morrocan inspired lentil and couscous salad while chatting with Cash online.  Describing my salad in perhaps too much detail for anyone’s liking, I started expressing my delights with the new olive oil I’ve been using.  As I started to describe which one it was, he quickly replied, “I know exactly which one you’re talking about!” Read more

thoughts on life: i wish i owned strip clubs

December 3, 2007 by Cash · 2 Comments

It’s no secret I’m an advocate of hedonism in general (see here) and strip clubs specifically (check this). After accidentally stumbling upon the ticker symbol for a locally based company (Lakewood Colorado, holla) that runs several nationwide, I’m beginning to wish I was on the other side of the cash register.

VCG Holding Corp. owns and operates nightclubs that provide live adult entertainment, and food and beverage services. As of April 3, 2007, the Company owned and operated eight adult entertainment nightclubs, including a dance club. The nightclubs operated by the Company include the PT’s Showclub in Indianapolis, Indiana; The Platinum Club in East Saint Louis, Illinois; Centerfold Showclub in Denver, Colorado; The Penthouse Club in Denver, Colorado; Diamond Cabaret in Denver, Colorado; Tabu (Dance club) in Denver, Colorado; PT’s Appaloosa in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and PT’s Showclub in Denver, Colorado.

Before you click ‘continue reading’, I want you to guess the market capitalization of VCG Holding. Go on. Guess.
