Some of these social encounter improving tips are common knowledge, but at least two of them were news to me.

4. Clean your tongue regularly with a clean cold, wet Terry washcloth. This helps remove the bacteria buildup that can cause bad breath.

5. Wipe the inside of your mouth, gums and cheeks. Literally any soft tissue in your mouth can be cleaned with a cold washcloth and be made to feel much fresher.

I’m anxious to see how these tips may or may not deminish the aroma of small batch, home-infused vodkas we’ll be sampling tonight at Greg and Glenn’s joint birthday fete. Anything for science. :-) Have a great weekend, thanks for reading.

They make devices called tongue scrapers that are better at the bacteria removal than the terry clothe mouth gag. We should get some and check it out.

I think the most amazing way to get rid of bad breath is to take a very small amount of hydrogen peroxide (like 1/8-1/4 of a capful) with a little bit of water and swish it like a mouthwash after flossing, but before brushing. It kills all of the bacteria which causes bad breath and it will last for days depending on what you eat (as long as you have a good normal oral hygiene regimen). I do it every couple of weeks / whenever it seems like it’s time and it works like a charm.

    Interesting idea Brandon.
